Introduction

Foks is a KiSS viewer for linux. KiSS is a computer version of paperdolls ; you can get more information about it at the Big KiSS Page :

Foks support FKiSS 1, 2, 2.1 and 3 extensions.

It comes under a source distribution and a binary distribution for ix86

Features and technical stuff

• Loads 4bpp, 8bpp and 32bpp (Cherry KiSS) cel.
• Drag and drop of clothes.
• Support transparency.
• Support FKiSS up to version 3 (animations and effects written by KiSS set authors)

  (That's about all from a user point of view)

• RLE compression of indexed cels to reduce memory usage.
• Do all image handling internally then uses gdkRGB to display.
• Tries hard to be fast (by using good algorithms rather than optimisation now).
• Depends on the availability of GNU Sather to be compiled and run, and little else (beside graphic and input libraries).
• Written in the GNU Sather language. The best language there is to write KiSS viewers (IMNSHO) !
